DAY 2 AT THE ISBHF WORLDS

The ISBHF Ball Hockey World Championships continued on day 2 with some teams playing their first game of the tournament.

In the Women’s division the host Team Slovakia won an exciting game in overtime by a score of 3-2 over Team USA. Michaela Vrskova scored 3:43 into OT for the win. Team Czech Republic defeated Team Great Britain 10-0 in their first game as Aneta Ledlova had 1 goal and 3 assists. Goalie Samantha Bolwell made 63 saves for Team Great Britain.

Team Haiti played their first game of the tournament in Group A vs Team Greece. Kevin Kuczmarksi had the game winning goal for Team Greece in a 5-2 win. Team Canada improved their record to 2-0 with a 3-0 victory over Team Switzerland. Goalie Adam Butler made 22 saves to post the shutout. Team Slovakia fell behind 2-0 to Team USA. Patrick Svitana capped the comeback with the overtime game winning goal for a 3-2 win to match the result of the Team Slovakia women’s game played earlier. Team Czech Republic defeated Team Great Britain 12-0 as Daniel Hnizdil scored 3 goals for the hat trick.

In Group Q action, Kyle Aldrich scored the shootout winning goal for Team Cayman Islands as they edged Team Lebanon 3-2. Team Bermuda opened their tournament with a 3-1 victory over Team Armenia. Johnathan Talbot had the game winning goal.
